We all love fruit – it’s the go-to snack that’s delicious and naturally healthy. But often our busy lives – completing triathlons, climbing mountains, running for buses – mean eating fresh fruit isn’t always an option. There are times when snacking on a strawberry or peeling a pineapple simply isn’t convenient. We set about finding a fresh way to get our fruit fix – capturing all the goodness of the finest sun-ripened fruit in a handy pack you can take anywhere.
IT’S A KIND OF (FREEZE DRYING) MAGIC
Ensuring we captured as much of the natural goodness of the fruit as possible in each bite of 5th Season wasn’t easy, but here’s how we did it…
- STEP 1 WE PICKED SUPER RIPE FRUIT
There’s no better place to start than with the best produce. Working with farmers we’ve selected only the very juiciest sun-ripened fruits – taste is everything.
- STEP 2 WE USE THE MAGIC OF FLASH FREEZING
Rapid freezing locks in all the nutrients and flavours of the fruit. This preserves all the taste of the original fruit and gives 5th Season its unmistakeable crunch.By slowly raising the temperature up to 40 degrees in a vacuum allows us to reduce the moisture without baking the fruit (the traditional way). This is how we are able to retain the authentic taste, shape, colour and more than 90% of the nutritional value of the fruit.
- STEP 3 WE PACK IT FOR PERFECT FRESHNESS
As soon as it’s ready, 5th Season is packed air-tight, ready for shipping. This way all the flavour and goodness is captured right until the moment when you open and enjoy!
- STEP 4 WE GIVE BACK TO THE SOURCE
